Charles Kassab (1945-2024)

Charles Kassab was born in 1945 in Damascus where he died in 2024. was one of the first batch of graduates from the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Damascus University in 1968.01 Kassab worked in the Municipality of Damascus on the master plan of the city alongside the French Architect Michel Ecochard. He also worked with the Japanese Architect Kenzo Tange on the People’s Presidential Palace and The Western Park (Tishreen Park) projects in Damascus. Partnering with fellow Architect Huda AlAssil, Kassab founded a private firm by the name of ‘Atelier de Damas’.02 He also taught at the then newly founded faculty of Architecture at Damascus University.
